Elmer Timberman Masonic Lodge No. 54, AF&AM
WE ARE a Masonic Lodge of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons chartered February 11, 1953 AD (5953 AL) holden under the Grand Lodge of the Commonwealth of VA.
I would like to thank all the brothers that have served their country, state, and community, whether through the military, public safety or community - thank You for your service. Please take a moment to reflect and remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for this country and its citizens, God Bless them.
It is also with deep sadness that I report to the brethren the passing of Brother Lee Carr Lamoreux. Please keep his family in your thoughts.
This being spring we will be changing our attire to a more comfortable fit. What do I mean? Please wear short sleeve shirts with buttons, polo or otherwise. Also, khaki pants or dress pants are acceptable. Please, NO shorts or sweat pants. I do hope regardless of what you wear you will attend lodge. Our attendance has fallen behind and it would be nice to see the brethren. We have plenty of parking and the AC is still working.
This is an exciting month. We have the Annual Lodge Picnic this month, June the 24th from 11:00am - 3:00pm. The location will be at the lodge to ensure we have shelter and comfort in case the weather does not cooperate. Please bring your family and friends. We just ask that you email JW Jason Himsey (firstname.lastname@example.org) or notify us by phone (so we have enough food and supplies).
Our lodge will be hosting the district school this month on Wednesday, June 28th. We will have refreshments and a meal starting around 6:30. The school will start around 7:30. Please try and attend. It's a great opportunity to brush up on your ritual and enjoy some time with our brothers. We also have the William Hiram Woods School on June 17th (Mt. Vernon Lodge - 8717 Fort Hunt Road Alexandria, Va). Breakfast will be at 7:30 and school will start at 8:30 am. All line officers are expected to attend.
I wanted to remind the brethren that August the 21st will be Past Masters Night, it will be a great opportunity to see and reconnect with brothers. Please contact the lodge or Rt. Wor. John Schroeder if you have a question or want to attend.
Finally brethren, I ask that you please attend the stated this month, June the 19th Monday @ Elmer Timberman Lodge. Dinner will start at 6:30 and lodge at 7:30. We have many items to discuss and would like the input of the brethren.
S&F, Wor. Joe Millirons

A Freemason conducts himself in society as if there were no laws - human or Divine, except those written in his heart by the finger of his Creator. He kneels before the universal throne of the Divine in gratitude for the blessings he has received and humble solicitation for his future protection. He does not disturb or mock the Religion of others. He restrains his passions in a manner that will not injure himself or his neighbor. He gives no offense, because he does not choose to be offended. He contracts no debts which he is certain he cannot fulfill, because he is honest upon principal.
"The secret of Masonry, like the secret of life, can be known only by those who seek it, serve it, live it. If cannot be uttered; it can only be felt and acted. It is, in fact, an open secret, and each man knows it according to his quest and capacity. Like all things worth knowing, no one can know it for another and no man can know it alone." ~Joseph Fort Newton
